The Taiwan Legal Information Institute (TaiwanLII) aims to assemble an academic-based coalition and promote free access to law. We emphasize the effective use of legal information for transnational and contextual research and teaching on comparative laws. The penetration of global law in the information society will gradually change the practice of legal profession and affect the substance of rule-of-law. In the post-modern civilisation, accessibilities to pluralistic legal information with all socio-cultural variables may become crucial for the understanding and promotion of the global rule-of-law.
